Yvain was a badass, a knight with a lion. The scene that stayed with me the most is when the lion attempts suicide. The animal, incredibly sensible, strong, and yet submissive to Yvain, falls into such despair and sadness upon seeing his severe injuries that he immediately tries to take his own life. But of course, Yvain survives, so his companion somehow pulls through as well.
I have a specific impression when reading medieval literature: the more I read, the stupider I seem to get. I pay the price of losing grey cells for each medieval story.
